Award Criteria & Nomination Forms
The Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavior Disorders annually recognizes individuals and organizations for the following awards.
Select the title of the award or stipend to review the award criteria and nomination form. Nomination forms are due on or before November 1 unless otherwise noted.
Update on Nominations Oct 29, 2025:
- Submission deadline for 2026 Awards, Stipends, and Master Teacher Nominations is extended through Friday, November 7, 2025.
- The MSLBD Office is closed Oct 31 - Nov 9. We will confirm receiving your submission Nov 10 or 11.

Outstanding service and leadership to the field of emotional behavioral disorders (EBD) and or autism spectrum disorders (ASD) on a national level.

Outstanding achievement and excellence in classroom service to students with emotional behavioral disorders (EBD) and or autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Outstanding advocacy for students with emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) and/or autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Outstanding achievement and excellence as a building or program administrator in service to students with emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) and/or autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

DEADLINE AUGUST 20
Outstanding achievement and excellence in classroom service to students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Nomination Deadline is August 20. -
Award up to two Doctoral students pursuing degrees with an emphasis in working with students with behavioral needs or a closely related field.

Award for an individual in an initial certification/licensure program (master's or undergraduate program) who identifies as a person of color and has a demonstrated interest in the field of behavior disorders or a closely related field.
