Seth Piro, Ed.S., NCSP

Iowa born, Oregon raised, and Colorado trained; Seth Piro was on his first behavior plan at age 7 and has been writing them professionally since 2007. Having first gained experience as a para-educator in a wide range of programs in the Multnomah Education Service District in Portland, Oregon, Seth’s passion for advocating and supporting individuals with disabilities developed into the pursuit of a career in School Psychology. After completing his Specialist in Education degree in the area of School Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado he began work in Southwest Iowa for the Green Hills Area Education Agency as a school psychologist and challenging behavior consultant. Seth joined the dark side of administration in 2016 and is currently serving as the executive director of special education for Northwest Area Education Agency in - of all places - Northwest Iowa. In addition to working with area schools, Seth serves on numerous regional and state-wide committees. He has received advanced training in experimental analysis from the University of Iowa. Seth’s passion for giving resources and training to others has included non-violent physical intervention training and teaching courses in psychology and behavior for local colleges and universities. Seth has been a proud presenter at MSLBD and enjoys participating in the Master Teacher and Planning Committees.
