Who are the MSLBD Master Teachers?

Barbara Gross

Barbara Gross

Barb Gross is 9-12 Essential Skills Behavior Teacher in the Alternative Program at Brook Valley South, ESU 3, LaVista, Nebraska.

Barb has been teaching students with behavioral challenges for over 20 years in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, resource, self-contained, alternative education, and consultation.  Her favorite part of her job is helping teachers find intervention strategies that work for them and that help students gain independence, build positive relationships, and become more successful in managing their behaviors.  Barb has two offspring who both seem determined to work with kids, as well.  Allie lives in Eugene, OR with her husband, Achu, and is working at the University of Oregon, Lauryn is a college student who wants to either “teach high school science or be a marine biologist”. Barb and her husband, Kerry, make time to play a mean tennis game, watch co-ed softball, cheer on the Husker football team, and watch random Netflix documentaries.

Barb first presented with the MSLBD Master Teacher Project in 2018. She is also a member of the MSLBD Planning Committee.
