Joshua Wikler

Josh Wikler is currently the teacher of the emotionally disturbed at Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS. He has held this position for the past ten years. Just recently he was named teacher of the year for Wyandotte High School. Prior to this Josh worked with youth in Michigan and co-founded a non-profit organization that resources the under-resourced around the world using storytelling. Before that he was a special education teacher in the Fort Zumwalt School District in St. Peters, MO, working with students diagnosed as BD. Josh is currently conducting a research project into the effects of hope based storytelling on the academic and behavioral success of high school students. As part of this project, he is training freshman teachers in hope based storytelling and tracking the freshman students’ progress when exposed to hope based story telling.
