Carrie Fairbairn is an elementary special education teacher for an Educational Service Unit (ESU #3) in Omaha, NE. She works in a contracted placement for kids who have been removed from their public school for significant behavioral challenges. She taught for over 20 years in self-contained EBD classrooms in public school. Carrie loves to support other teachers in the trenches in developing more effective self-contained and contracted placement behavior programs. She and her 4 teaching partners recently created a company called, “Just5Teachers” in response to overwhelming requests for help in supporting kids with behavior challenges. She has presented at the Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavior Disorders (MSLBD) for several years on topics including: social and emotional learning, student involvement in the IEP process, social skills instruction, and programming for students with EBD. 

Carrie became part of the MSLBD Master Teacher Project in 2017.
